After producing the project methodology, THE DESK RESEARCH it was put into place. 2 questionnaires, one addressed to existing / aspiring entrepreneurs, and other one addressed to professionals / experts were developed. The aim of research was to identify which digital entrepreneurial skills must be developed by project team into the Handbook for Digital Entrepreneurs but also into other 2 results of the project and which are the most appropriate cloud solutions that entrepreneurs can use into their business.
Then, the partners collected the answers, analyze them and made a national report. The coordinator of the first project result Synthesis compiled the National Reports into one European Report which was further translated into all partners’ languages and it is now available for public.
A methodology for search, list and analyze the public and private software corresponding each category of competencies was developed by A-TEAM with Edufor inputs and feedbacks of all partners.
A guideline on how to apply the methodology was developed by Edufor. Each partner analyzed minimum 16 public cloud software (over 80 in total) and minimum 8 free open-source software (over 40 in total). The software considered important for project target taking into account aspects as: free and low-cost solutions, software characteristics like functionality, usability, user-friendliness and utility for the entrepreneurs or aspiring entrepreneurs were retained and are currently developed into “Handbook for digital entrepreneurs.”
As a result of analyze it was developed the “Cloud and free open source software for e-business integration. Handbook for digital entrepreneurs.”
The Handbook it’s split into 3 parts.
Part 1 – Introduction which make clear the content of the handbook, regarding skills addressed, type of software described further, term used, handbook license, links used and software prices.
Part 2 – identify and describe PUBLIC CLOUD SOFTWARE which can be used by entrepreneurs for their business.
Part 3 – identify and describe PRIVATE CLOUD SOFTWARE, more specifically free and open source software which can be installed on own servers and used by entrepreneurs for their business.
